Nikah Costa Handmade

I am happy to introduce Roberta Modulo, the hands and heart behind Nikah Costa Handmade, a Brazilian living in Vienna, navigating life as an expat and a mother.

Roberta is a self confessed earring addict and has been making jewellery for over twenty years, originally as a passion and a creative refuge.

Her pieces have been exhibited in Vienna, New York, Delaware, and soon to be in Munich.

I am delighted to announce she will be hosting workshops in Emma’s Art Room, focusing on creating a space where people can explore their creativity, using polymer clay as the medium. Sharing techniques and secrets she has learnt over the years. It is a welcomed opportunity to slow down, explore and connect with yourself and other. Most importantly make stunning earrings!

The workshop "Unearthing Stories" got developed alongside the Master's Dissertation in Eco-Social Design at the Free University of Bolzano and aims to inspire children to recognize and care for soil as a living entity, while offering them support to explore our human-soil relationship from both a human and a more-than-human perspective. Targeted at kids aged 6 to 10, it seeks to cultivate early recognition of soil as an essential, irreplaceable foundation of humanity through an elaboration of regenerative land practices, the perspective of reciprocity and philosophies based in cultures, communities and generations.

During an immersive two-hour session, children have focused time to discuss, explore, and create, deepening their understanding of soil and the connected world.

Workshop activities include;

  • collaborative mapping

  • sensory activities with soil

  • play

  • storytelling

  • imaginative explorations
